PM: Russia to make new federal project when updating AI strategy

MOSCOW, Nov 22 (PRIME) -- Russia will create a new federal project that will become part of new national project Data Economy when revising the artificial intelligence (AI) strategy, the government said on Wednesday on its official Telegram channel quoting Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

“On president’s orders, the government is updating the artificial intelligence strategy,” the statement read.

Mishustin ordered the Economic Development Ministry, the Digital Development Ministry, and the Finance Ministry to decide on the list of indicators of national project Data Economy in the AI development section till April 15, 2024.

“The Digital Development Ministry is ordered to think of creation of national tools of data processing that use AI till December 20, 2024 and create an AI platform based on GosTech for the government till April 1, 2024,” the statement read.

Mishustin also ordered the Energy Ministry, the Economic Development Ministry, the Digital Development Ministry, and the Finance Ministry “to think of preferential connecting to the power grids of new specialized data processing centers and provide them with beneficial electric energy tariffs” till February 15, 2024.

The Education Ministry and the Economic Development Ministry must elaborate higher-education programs to train AI specialists till March 30, 2024.

The Health Ministry and the Finance Ministry must stipulate financing of AI solutions for federal project Digital Healthcare Services from 2025.
